This piece titled F.Y.O.G. (For Your Own Good) Is an acronym developed under the term “conquering language.” Conquering language is terminology used to eliminate the identities and subjugate individuals from various cultures and races, by the white man, usually for personal gain and superiority. This video is a collage of multiple movies based on stories portraying colonization and assimilation. From these films I decide what falls under the category of conquering language and began to break down the definition of FYOG while also building my own understanding of this term.

This visual collage connects various images from different mediums to depict the oppression of black bodies while the artist poetry is spoken in tandem with the sound of a beating heart and spirituals.
What A Wonderful World is a visual collage of found footage spanning 50 years to create the artist pessimistic world view, through imagery of home movies, government ads, surveillance, commercials, and more she is able to create a contrast of the good and bad within our society through the time progression of the imagery.
Tell Me Your Secrets is a silent video piece in which various people, their faces slightly obscured, from different walks of life share a secret without talking. This action and space becomes a therapeutic release for those 'speaking' and turns into a curious disconnection for the viewer who aims to transcribe these empty voices to better understand them. This piece is the artists take on the disconnect between individuals in our everyday society and how we all look for a way to connect even when we don't have or want to share the words.
Talus is a visual monologue allowing you to re-live the artist’s accident and injury through a culmination of found footage, interviews, animation, and personal footage taken by her during recovery. Engaging the various visuals as the piece moves forward allows the viewers to get closer to the artist’s experience though the events after the accident. While creating Talus the artist used this piece to start processing the accident, the related emotions, begin healing from the tragedy, and building a better connection with her family and herself.
